Goodwill Industries of the Valleys offers classes and career services to the public. We help individuals increase their skills and assist with their job search. People can receive help online or in-person at our Career Centers and Workforce Satellite Offices. We assist with resume writing, filing online applications, gaining computer skills, referrals to other agencies for support services, and much more. We offer Job Fairs, Workshops & Training Classes, and Computer Classes. All classes and career services are free and open to the public. Goodwill hosts job fairs throughout its service area in Virginia to connect job seekers with hiring employers. Goodwill partners with local businesses looking to hire. In-person or virtual Job fairs allow individuals to meet with employers hiring for various positions. All job fairs are free and open to the public.
Workshops & Training Classes
Our workshops and training classes give job seekers the skills necessary to succeed in a competitive job market. Workshops and training classes are free and open to the public at our Career Centers and other Goodwill offices. Some of our workshops are available on the online Goodwill Learning Academy platform. The online platform provides a variety of on-demand training opportunities.
To take online training opportunities, please register through our online portal. Access a catalog of courses offered throughout the year as well as instructions and FAQs for registering and using our online learning platform. Computer classes help individuals looking for a job or better job opportunity or people who want to increase their overall computer knowledge. In-person Computer Classes are available at the Danville Jobs Center and Staunton Career Center.
All classes are free and open to the public. You must take the NorthStar Computer Assessment before beginning any computer classes to determine your skill level.
You can also take computer classes online. Our online training platform has Technology Skills training for beginner-level computer users. People can learn basic computer skills, navigate the internet, use Microsoft Word and Excel, and more!
We have three Career Centers in our service area: Danville Jobs Center and Staunton Career Center.
Our professional, qualified Career Center staff can provide the help you need to advance your career or get a better job — at no cost to you. Career Centers are open to the public.
