The blue bins have arrived in Harrisonburg!
Harrisonburg, Va. (April 11, 2025) – Goodwill Industries of the Valleys opened a new outlet store and donation center in Harrisonburg, located at 3145 E. Kaylor Park Drive. The Outlet Store offers a unique shopping opportunity with a chance to shop for items priced by the pound.
“This store is more than an outlet, and it is more than a donation center,” said Richmond Vincent, President & CEO for Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. “It’s a center for economic prosperity, providing jobs in the community while every sale and donation supports job training programs right here in Harrisonburg.”

The Goodwill Outlet Store and Donation Center is different from the typical thrifting experience. There are no shelves or racks. Instead, items are placed in bins and shoppers can select items from the blue bins throughout the store, where most items are priced by the pound instead of by the piece.
“People love shopping from our blue bins,” said Mindy Boyd, Chief Operating Officer for Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. “We’re excited to offer this experience to residents of the Shenandoah Valley.”
Goodwill outlet stores are the home for items that did not sell in Goodwill retail stores. Items are sold by the pound in most cases, providing a great resource for shoppers to get the most value from every shopping excursion.
The Harrisonburg outlet store location also includes a convenient donation center for area residents to drop off their donations, which will be sorted and routed to the local Goodwill thrift stores.
The Harrisonburg Outlet Store and Donation Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
