Goodwill Opens New Forest Road Store and Donation Center

New Store Features Expanded Shopping and Donation Spaces and New Signage with Familiar Faces

Lynchburg, Va. – Goodwill Industries of the Valleys opened a new store location at 19325 Forest Road in Lynchburg. The new Forest store features more than 12,000 square feet of shopping space along with a convenient, covered drop-off donation center.

“We are excited that the new location allows us to provide the Forest community with a larger, more convenient location for them to donate and shop,” said Richmond Vincent, President & CEO for Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. “Sales from the store support our local employees in addition to the job seeker and job placement programs that help residents throughout Lynchburg and Bedford.”

Located in between the former Forest Road and Forest Brook Road locations, the new store is easy to find for new and returning customers. This store consolidates the operations from the Forest Road and Forest Brook Road locations under one roof with expanded space for shopping and donations. The Timberlake and Wards Road locations will continue normal operations.

More than a new location, the new Forest store also features new in-store signage with familiar faces – Lynchburg area residents.

“We are a community-focused organization,” said Mindy Boyd, Chief Operating Officer for Goodwill. “The new signage exemplifies our community focus by showing the faces of our store employees and shoppers. If you’re looking for the Kids section, look for Joshua, and if you want the women’s section, you can look for Autumn. It’s a wonderful new feature, and we’re excited for store visitors to see their friends and family members prominently displayed.”

“The updated, colorful signage is part of an overall brand refresh for stores operated by Goodwill Industries of the Valleys,” said Boyd. “Digital signage for enhanced messaging and wall murals are also components of the refresh, which creates a shopping experience that is as vibrant, colorful, and energizing as our shoppers.”

The Forest store is the model store for the brand refresh, and elements will be introduced in other stores in the coverage area throughout the year. Goodwill Industries of the Valleys offers convenient and accessible thrifting experiences at 38 retail locations across Central, Southwest and Southside Virginia.
