Computer Classes

Computer Classes at the Goodwill Jobs Campus in RoanokeGoodwill offers basic computer classes to assist job seekers and advanced computer training for those seeking to begin a career in Information Technology.

Computer classes will assist those who are seeking employment to improve their job opportunities by increasing their computer knowledge.

All classes are offered at no charge and open to the public. You must take the NorthStar Computer Assessment before beginning any computer classes to determine your skill level.

Digital Literacy Information Session
This introduction to Goodwill Computer Classes will be held before NorthStar Digital Literacy Assessments. Come learn details about each course, receive a customized learning plan, and ask any questions about our class structure.

NorthStar Computer Assessment
Dates: Mondays
Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm

Beginner Computer
Offered as a three-day course, students must attend every class. Students will learn about the parts of a computer and how to complete basic tasks.

Intermediate Computer
Offered as a three-day course, students must attend every class. Students will gain a deeper understanding of how to navigate a computer and manage files.
Dates: February 25th, 26th & 27th
Time: 10am – 12pm

Microsoft Word
Offered as a three-day course, students must attend every class. Learn how to create, format, and save Word documents.

Microsoft Excel
Offered as a three-day course, students must attend every class. Learn to input data, create charts and graphs, and solve problems using Excel.

Time: 1pm – 3pm

Microsoft PowerPoint
Offered as a three-day course, students must attend every class. Learn to create, format, design and present your own PowerPoint presentations.

Microsoft Word Course – DCC Scale Up
The Microsoft Word class includes the NorthStar assessment at the beginning then training with a test and certificate at the end.
