Life Path Re-Entry Program


Goodwill’s Life Path program assists individuals who have been formerly incarcerated and wish to re-enter the workforce. Qualifying individuals will receive job placement, career navigation, and case management services, along with supports and job readiness programming to achieve their career goals.

Individuals enrolled in the Life Path program will be placed in employment at Goodwill earning an income while receiving services to gain necessary skills, training and credentialing to achieve their career goals. The Career Navigator will work with those participating in the program to determine what support services may be needed for long term employment success.

Once a career plan is determined, Goodwill’s Career Navigator will coordinate site visits to prospective employers and provide job retention services through coaching and ongoing communication with employers.

To be enrolled in the Life Path program, you must:

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Have a criminal history
  • Be SNAP recipient or SNAP eligible
  • Have employment as a primary goal
  • And live in one of the following areas: New River Valley or Shenandoah Valley
