Job Seeker Workshops

Goodwill provides weekly and monthly programs and job seeker workshops. Our Workshops are designed to give job seekers the skills necessary to succeed in a highly competitive job market. These programs and workshops are free and open to the public. We do ask that job seekers register before hand, because space is limited. Job seeker workshops, classes, and programs are held at the Charlottesville Workforce CenterHarrisonburg Workforce CenterMadison Heights Jobs Center, and Roanoke Jobs Campus.

Planning for Success
“Planning for Success” involves providing participants with tools and resources to cope with employment search setbacks. For example, identifying ‘self-help’ actions which empower one to break through the barriers, develop resiliency and to go above and beyond to achieve success. Learn how to develop a short-term plan for the long-term goal. Pre-registration is required; space is limited to 12 participants.

Financial Empowerment
Financial empowerment means the process of helping individuals to make choices about money and transforming those choices into positive actions. Learn how money works in one’s personal life by understanding budgeting, earning, spending and saving. Learn about credit scores and their use by lenders as well ways to improve your individual credit score. Pre-registration is required; space is limited to 12 participants.
