TANF Support Services at Goodwill Help People Get Back to Work
Virginia’s TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) program emphasizes personal responsibility. Participants may be provided with services such as job skills training, work experience, job readiness training, child care assistance, transportation, and other work related expenses.
Goodwill provides TANF Support Services to the Department of Social Services in local communities. The purpose is to determine the employment ability for individuals receiving TANF.
- Interview to determine individual goals
- Assessment of interests, ability, and needs
- Referrals for diagnostic testing
- Recommendation for alternate support services
- Case management
TANF Support Services are provided based on the individual needs of the person.
Goodwill TANF Support Services are offered to individuals referred by the Department of Social Services. They must live in the City of Roanoke or Salem or County of Roanoke, Craig, Botetourt, or Franklin. Services are funded by the Department of Social Services.
