Goodwill provides a broad range of training and employment opportunities that assist youth and adults in overcoming barriers to employment and achieving a level of independence to participate more fully in life. Our workforce development programs focus on meeting individual needs and ensuring each participant progresses to reach his or her full potential. Supported by a team of dedicated, professional staff, participants are regularly assessed and measured so that successful and desired outcomes are realized.Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities

Specific Goodwill programs have been accredited by CARF, the Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. CARF accreditation means that we have made a commitment to continually enhance the quality of our programs and focus on participant satisfaction.

Goodwill’s workforce development programs are the essence of our mission and are designed to provide participants with the level of support needed to succeed. From daily intensive skills training to job coaching, people with disabilities and disadvantages receive valuable training and employment opportunities to help change their lives and make a difference in the community.

SUCCESS STORY

Linda Perry smiling at receptionist's desk.

In 1970 Linda was riding high with a dream job as a flight attendant, a nice apartment, new clothes and everything a young, single woman could enjoy. Little did she know at that time how her life would become a struggle. A serious mental disability forced Linda to quit her job and turned her life into one of dependency. For the next 20 years, she lived in and out of mental facilities and adult care homes. In 1994 she made up her mind to change her life and came to Goodwill where she was given a chance to do just that. Linda was provided assessment and training opportunities that eventually led to a new job as receptionist at a Goodwill work center, her own apartment and a new life of being self-sufficient. She admits it has been a struggle, but believes her future is brighter than ever from the chance she was given at Goodwill.
