Goodwill provides space, equipment and personnel to operate complete production lines for many of our customers. We manage a vendor compliance operation for a national retailer, which involves the quality control inspection, repackaging, labeling and sorting of over one million clothing, jewelry and other household products annually. Goodwill workers assemble nearly 300,000 corrugated laboratory animal transport boxes on an annual basis for Harlan.

When production requirements increase, a second crew is provided. Celanese Acetate employs a Goodwill workforce at its Celco Plant in Narrows, Virginia. This workforce performs a variety of tasks including inspection, cleaning, sorting and repair. It adheres to the same strict safety and work guidelines as Celanese’s own workforce.

Virginia Tech contracts with Goodwill to perform building and grounds maintenance on its Blacksburg, Virginia campus. Two supervised Goodwill crews report daily–one is responsible for litter control in campus parking areas and the second performs a variety of custodial services.

We have extensive assembly and packaging capabilities. Our workforce is perfectly suited to small electrical and mechanical parts assembly, part modification and component installation or removal. Packaging capabilities include shipping boxes, drop sealing, poly bagging, shrink wrapping and labeling. On an annual basis Goodwill assembles and packages over 280,000 crew kits used in the railroad industry and over 175,000 components used in night vision goggles for ITT Industries. We also offer assembly and packaging of sales and promotional kits.

Other capabilities include operations such as sorting, collating, folding, precision cutting and document shredding. Our workforce excels in these types of time-consuming, labor-intensive tasks. Goodwill workers sort and recycle over 1.85 million clothes hangers annually for Aramark’s Uniform Division.
